Logo Re-design

The owner of One Yoga had her daughter draw up the original logo design for the business. She had used this for many years and came to me when she was ready for an update. She was intent on keeping the core of the original design which was an image of the earth making the ‘O’ in the word One. Using this as a starting point I recreated the earth design and then decided to find a font that would allow this element to tie in better to the word. I ended up going with a font that had similar attributes to characters in certain Indian dialects so as to harken back to yoga’s roots. By doing this, the viewer is subtly being informed of what the business is about before even reading the words. I also introduced a brushstroke lotus plant further helping accomplish an at-a-glance understanding of the business.
