Brochure Re-Design

This project turned out to be a bit of a design jigsaw puzzle. All the company provided me with were some broad guidelines of what had to be included as well as their previous brochure. My task was to figure out how to take these nonspecific pieces and find a way to fit them together in 6 distinct eye-catching panels while maintaining consistency throughout the whole product.
To keep the brochure united I stuck to a limited color pallet that was appropriate for the brand. On the inside, I lined the bottom with images of what a guest would witness on a distillery tour. This acted as a thread to weave the inside panels together, while still allowing the panels themselves to have varied information. I also included faint views of distillery images and icons to serve as a background texture and added intrigue.
Because this product would be aimed at tourists, I wanted to include attention-grabbing elements that would be easily seen and easily remembered. The previous brochure had been cluttered with text, so for this one, I wanted to create space that would give more attention to memorable phrases like “Drink like your great great great grandad,” “Only minutes from Downtown Nashville,” and “Nashville’s Most Historic Distillery. I did allow for one text-heavy panel, but I wrote the copy in such a way that it packed the excitement and intrigue of an hour-long tour into two succinct paragraphs (drastically more condensed than before). Not wanting to exclude those who weren’t interested in reading a block of text, I was also able to add in a photo of an 1800’s bottle to allow that panel to still have purpose and intrigue.
While a brochure is not typically the most exciting product to design for, I am exceptionally proud of this work. Thousands of these were distributed throughout Tennessee and beyond, and they proved to be a wildly successful marketing tool. They stood amongst other tour destination brochures and pamphlets and communicated the intentionality and excellence of the business.
